🥬 Slow Cooker Cabbage and Potatoes

This is a simple, comforting dish that cooks slowly until the cabbage is tender and the potatoes soak up all the flavor. Perfect as a side dish or a light meal.

🧾 Ingredients

  • 1 small head green cabbage, chopped
  • 4–5 medium potatoes, peeled and cut into chunks
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon salt (or to taste)
  • Optional: 1–2 chopped smoked sausages like Kielbasa

👩‍🍳 Instructions

  1. Prepare the vegetables
    Chop the cabbage into bite-size pieces and cut the potatoes into chunks.
  2. Add to slow cooker
    Place cabbage, potatoes, and onion into the slow cooker.
  3. Season
    Sprinkle garlic powder, salt, and pepper over the vegetables. Add butter on top.
  4. Pour broth
    Add the chicken broth over everything.
  5. Cook
    • Low: 6–7 hours
    • High: 3–4 hours
      Cook until potatoes are tender.
  6. Stir and serve
    Stir gently before serving so the flavors mix well.

  • Bacon pieces for smoky flavor
  • Carrots for sweetness
  • Ham chunks for a heartier meal
  • A pinch of paprika or red pepper flakes for a little heat 🌶️
