Ingredients

  • 1 small head of cabbage, chopped
  • 6–8 slices bacon, chopped
  • 1 onion, sliced

  • ½ tsp paprika (optional)
  • 1–2 tbsp apple cider vinegar (optional, for tang)

Instructions

  1. Prepare ingredients
    • Chop the cabbage, slice the onion, and cut bacon into pieces.
  2. Layer in the slow cooker
    • Place onion and garlic at the bottom.
    • Add chopped cabbage on top.
    • Sprinkle salt, pepper, and paprika.
    • Scatter bacon pieces over the cabbage.
  3. Add broth
    • Pour chicken or vegetable broth over everything to keep it moist.
  4. Cook
    • Cover and cook on low for 6–7 hours or high for 3–4 hours, until the cabbage is tender and flavorful.
  5. Finish (optional)
    • Stir in apple cider vinegar for a little tang before serving.
