Simple Slow Cooker Beef Sauce

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs beef chunks (stew meat or chuck)
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch (optional, for thicker sauce)

Instructions

  1. Place the raw beef chunks in the slow cooker.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together the beef broth, soy sauce, brown sugar, tomato paste, garlic, pepper, paprika, and cornstarch.
  3. Pour the mixture over the beef in the slow cooker.
  4. Stir slightly to coat the meat.
  5. Cook:
    • Low: 7–8 hours
    • High: 4–5 hours

Optional additions

You can also add:

  • carrots
  • potatoes
  • onions
  • mushrooms
