🍇 Blackberry Cobbler (Classic & Easy)

Here’s a simple, old-fashioned blackberry cobbler recipe with a golden crust and juicy filling.

🛒 Ingredients

For the filling:

  • 4 cups fresh or frozen blackberries
  • ¾–1 cup sugar (adjust to taste)
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch

For the topping:

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 cup milk
  • ½ cup (1 stick) melted butter

👩‍🍳 Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Prepare berries: In a bowl, mix blackberries, sugar, lemon juice, and cornstarch. Pour into a greased 9×9-inch baking dish.
  3. Make batter: In another bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and milk. Stir until smooth.
  4. Assemble: Pour melted butter over the berries. Spoon batter evenly over the top (do not stir).
  5. Bake for 40–50 minutes, until golden brown and bubbly.
  6. Cool slightly before serving.

Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream for the best flavor contrast.
