Crispy honey garlic chicken recipe

Oh yes — crispy, sticky, sweet-savory goodness. 🍯🍗
This version gives you super crispy chicken with a glossy honey garlic sauce that clings perfectly.


🍯 Crispy Honey Garlic Chicken

🛒 Ingredients

For the Chicken

  • 1½ lbs boneless, skinless chicken thighs (or breasts), cut into chunks
  • ½ cup cornstarch
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • ½ tsp paprika
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • Oil for frying (vegetable or canola)

For the Honey Garlic Sauce

  • ½ cup honey
  • ¼ cup soy sauce
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar (or apple cider vinegar)
  • 1 tsp sesame oil (optional but amazing)
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch + 2 tbsp water (slurry)

🔪 Instructions

1️⃣ Coat the Chicken

  1. Pat chicken dry.
  2. In one bowl: beat eggs.
  3. In another bowl: mix cornstarch, flour, salt, pepper, paprika.
  4. Dip chicken into egg → then dredge in flour mixture.
  5. Press coating on well for extra crunch.

2️⃣ Fry Until Crispy

  • Heat oil to 350°F (175°C).
  • Fry in batches 4–5 minutes until golden and cooked through.
  • Drain on wire rack (not paper towels — keeps it crisp).

3️⃣ Make the Sauce

  1. In a saucepan, combine honey, soy sauce, garlic, vinegar, sesame oil.
  2. Bring to a gentle simmer.
  3. Stir in cornstarch slurry.
  4. Simmer 1–2 minutes until thick and glossy.

4️⃣ Toss & Serve

  • Add crispy chicken to sauce.
  • Toss quickly until coated.
  • Serve immediately.

✨ Optional Toppings

  • Sesame seeds
  • Sliced green onions
  • Red pepper flakes

🍚 Serve With

  • Steamed rice
  • Fried rice
  • Stir-fried vegetables
  • Or even in lettuce wraps

🔥 Extra Crispy Tip

Double fry:

  • Fry once for 3 minutes
  • Rest 5 minutes
  • Fry again 2–3 minutes

Restaurant-style crunch.
