Putting raw apple slices in a slow cooker is the start of several easy, cozy recipes 🍎✨ Here’s what you can make:


🍎 Slow Cooker Cinnamon Apples (Easy Side or Dessert)

Ingredients

  • 6–8 apples, peeled, cored, and sliced
  • 2–3 tbsp brown sugar (adjust to taste)
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp nutmeg (optional)
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 2 tbsp butter (optional, for richness)
  • 1–2 tbsp water

Instructions

  1. Add apple slices to the slow cooker.
  2. Sprinkle with sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and lemon juice.
  3. Add butter and water.
  4. Cook on LOW for 3–4 hours or HIGH for 1½–2 hours, until tender.
  5. Stir gently before serving.

✔ Great as a side dish (like Cracker Barrel-style apples), over pancakes, oatmeal, pork chops, or vanilla ice cream.


🍏 For Applesauce

Skip the butter and reduce sugar.
Cook apples with ¼ cup water on LOW for 4 hours, then mash or blend until smooth.


🥧 For Apple Pie Filling

Add:

  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch (stirred in during the last 30 minutes)
  • 1 tsp vanilla

Cook until thickened. Cool before using in pies or crisps.


Tips

  • Best apples: Honeycrisp, Fuji, Gala (sweet) or Granny Smith (tart).
  • No need to fully submerge apples in water — they release their own juices.
  • Don’t overcook or they’ll turn mushy (unless making applesauce).
