Here’s a simple, delicious creamy shrimp salad recipe you can make in about 20 minutes.


🦐 Creamy Shrimp Salad

Ingredients (Serves 4)

  • 1 lb (450g) cooked shrimp, peeled & deveined (medium or small, chopped if large)
  • ½ cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tbsp sour cream (or Greek yogurt for lighter option)
  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
  • 1 celery stalk, finely diced
  • 2 tbsp red onion, very finely diced
  • 1 tbsp fresh dill (or 1 tsp dried)
  • Salt & black pepper to taste
  • Optional: pinch of paprika or Old Bay seasoning

Instructions

  1. Prep shrimp: If using frozen cooked shrimp, thaw and pat dry. Chop into bite-size pieces.
  2. Make dressing: In a bowl, mix mayo, sour cream, Dijon, lemon juice, dill, salt, pepper, and optional seasoning.
  3. Combine: Fold in shrimp, celery, and red onion until evenly coated.
  4. Chill: Cover and refrigerate at least 30 minutes for best flavor.
  5. Serve: On lettuce leaves, in a sandwich roll, over mixed greens, or with crackers.

Variations

  • Avocado twist: Add diced avocado before serving.
  • Spicy version: Add 1–2 tsp sriracha or a dash of cayenne.
  • Low-carb: Serve in butter lettuce cups.
  • Extra crunch: Add diced cucumber or chopped pickles.
