Classic choice 🧀🍞 Here’s a simple, reliable Cheddar Cheese Quick Bread—no yeast, no waiting, just mix and bake.

Cheddar Cheese Quick Bread

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 Tbsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp sugar (optional)
  • 1½ cups sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1 cup milk (or buttermilk for extra tenderness)
  • ¼ cup vegetable oil or melted butter
  • 1 large egg

Instructions

  1. Heat oven to 350°F (175°C).
    Grease a loaf pan.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, salt, pepper, and sugar.
  3. Stir in shredded cheddar.
  4. In another bowl, whisk milk, oil (or butter), and egg.
  5. Add wet ingredients to dry and mix just until combined
    (lumps are fine—overmixing makes it tough).
  6. Pour batter into pan and smooth the top.
  7. Bake 45–50 minutes, until golden and a toothpick comes out clean.
  8. Cool 10 minutes, then slice.
