Roasted Sweet Potatoes Recipe

Here’s a simple, crispy-edged, caramelized roasted sweet potatoes recipe — perfect as a side dish for weeknights or holidays.


🍠✨ Roasted Sweet Potatoes

Ingredients (4 servings)

  • 2–3 large sweet potatoes, peeled (optional) and cubed into 1-inch pieces
  • 2–3 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp paprika or smoked paprika (optional)
  • ½–1 tsp garlic powder (optional)
  • 1–2 tsp brown sugar or maple syrup (optional for extra caramelization)

🥣 Instructions

1. Preheat oven

Heat to 425°F (220°C).
A hot oven gives the best caramelization.


2. Prep the sweet potatoes

Cut into even 1-inch cubes so they cook evenly.


3. Season

Toss cubes with:

  • olive oil
  • salt
  • pepper
  • paprika
  • garlic powder
  • (optional) brown sugar or maple syrup

Make sure pieces are well coated.


4. Arrange on baking sheet

Spread potatoes in a single layer on a parchment-lined sheet.
Do not overcrowd — this is key to getting crisp edges.


5. Roast

Bake 30–40 minutes, flipping halfway, until:

  • edges are crispy
  • centers are tender
  • color is deep golden and caramelized

6. Serve

Great plain or topped with:

  • fresh parsley
  • honey or maple drizzle
  • cinnamon
  • feta cheese
  • toasted pecans

⭐ Variations

Savory Herb

Add thyme, rosemary, or Italian seasoning.

Sweet Cinnamon

Use cinnamon + brown sugar, and add a butter drizzle after roasting.

Spicy

Use chili powder, cayenne, or chipotle powder.

Sheet Pan Dinner

Add chicken sausage or seasoned chicken breasts on the same tray.
