Pineapple Bake

Ohhh, Pineapple Bake—sweet, buttery, a little tangy, and very old-school comfort 🍍💛 This one shows up at holidays, potlucks, and Sunday dinners for a reason.

Pineapple Bake

Ingredients

  • 1 can (20 oz) crushed pineapple, undrained

  • 1 cup sugar

  • 4 large eggs

  • ½ cup (1 stick) butter, melted

  • 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese

  • 4 cups white bread, cubed (crusts removed)

Instructions

  1. Heat oven to 350°F (175°C). Butter a baking dish.

  2. In a bowl, whisk sugar and eggs until smooth.

  3. Stir in crushed pineapple (with juice) and melted butter.

  4. Fold in cheese and bread cubes.

  5. Pour into baking dish and spread evenly.

  6. Bake 45–50 minutes, until golden and set in the center.

  7. Let rest 10 minutes before serving.

What Makes It Magic

  • Sweet pineapple + salty cheddar = shockingly good

  • Bread soaks everything into a custardy base

  • Crispy top, soft center

Tips & Variations

  • 🧀 Extra cheesy? Add ½ cup more cheddar on top

  • 🥥 Add shredded coconut for a tropical twist

  • 🍒 A few maraschino cherries = retro vibes

  • 🍞 Day-old bread works best
