🍮 Cinnamon Raisin Bread Pudding

Ingredients (6–8 servings)

  • 4 cups cinnamon raisin bread, cubed (slightly stale is best)
  • 1 cup raisins (optional if bread already has plenty)
  • 2 cups milk (or half milk + half cream for richer)
  • 3 large eggs
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp melted butter
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1½ tsp ground cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp nutmeg (optional)
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

1️⃣ Heat oven

  • Preheat to 180°C / 350°F.
  • Butter an 8×8 inch (20×20 cm) baking dish.

2️⃣ Fill the dish

  • Add bread cubes and raisins evenly.

3️⃣ Make custard

  • Whisk milk, eggs, brown sugar, butter, vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.

4️⃣ Assemble

  • Pour custard over bread.
  • Press gently so everything gets soaked.
  • Rest 10–15 minutes (extra creamy).

5️⃣ Bake

  • Bake 35–40 minutes until set and golden.

6️⃣ Serve

  • Serve warm with vanilla sauce, cream, or ice cream 😍

✨ Optional Vanilla Sauce (Highly Recommended)

  • ½ cup heavy cream
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1 tsp vanilla
    Simmer 5 minutes until glossy.
