Ingredients (6–8 servings)
- 1½ lb (700 g) ground beef
- 4–5 cups potatoes, thinly sliced (russet or Yukon Gold)
- 1 small onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can (10.5 oz / 300 g) cream of mushroom soup
- 1 can (10.5 oz / 300 g) cream of chicken soup
- 1 cup milk
- 1½ cups shredded cheddar cheese
- Salt & pepper to taste
- 1 tsp paprika (optional)
- 1 tsp dried parsley (optional)
- Butter or oil for greasing dish
Instructions
1️⃣ Heat oven
- Preheat to 180°C / 350°F.
- Grease a 9×13 inch (23×33 cm) baking dish.
2️⃣ Cook beef
- Brown ground beef with onion and garlic.
- Season with salt, pepper, paprika.
- Drain excess fat.
3️⃣ Mix sauce
- In a bowl, whisk soups + milk until smooth.
4️⃣ Layer
- Layer ½ the potatoes in the dish.
- Add ½ the beef.
- Pour ½ the soup mixture.
- Repeat layers.
- Cover tightly with foil.
5️⃣ Bake
- Bake 60 minutes, covered.
- Remove foil, sprinkle cheese on top.
- Bake 20–25 minutes uncovered until bubbly and golden.

- Let sit 10–15 minutes before serving.
