Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Layer ingredients: Place sliced onions and garlic at the bottom of the slow cooker. Sprinkle with a little salt, pepper, and paprika.
  2. Add pork chops: Lay the raw pork chops on top of the onions. Season the other side with salt, pepper, and herbs.
  3. Add liquid: Pour chicken broth over the chops.
  4. Cook:
    • Low: 6–7 hours
    • High: 3–4 hours
      Until pork chops are tender (internal temperature should reach 145°F / 63°C).
  5. Optional gravy: Remove chops, mix 1–2 tbsp cornstarch with 2–3 tbsp water, stir into the cooking liquid, and cook on high 10–15 minutes to thicken.
  6. Serve: Pour sauce over pork chops and serve with mashed potatoes, rice, or roasted vegetables.

Tips

  • Browning the pork chops in a skillet before adding them to the slow cooker adds extra flavor but isn’t required.
  • Add sliced apples or mushrooms for a sweeter or earthier flavor.
  • Avoid overcooking: thin chops can become dry if left too long.
