Here’s the classic, addictive Alabama Firecrackers recipe—crispy, salty, spicy crackers that disappear fast at parties 🔥


Alabama Firecrackers

Ingredients

  • 1 box (about 16 oz) saltine crackers
  • 1 cup neutral oil (canola or vegetable)
  • 1 packet ranch seasoning mix
  • 1–2 tbsp crushed red pepper flakes (adjust heat to taste)
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • Optional: ½ tsp cayenne for extra heat

Instructions

  1. Mix seasoning oil
    In a bowl, whisk together oil, ranch seasoning, red pepper flakes, garlic powder, onion powder, and cayenne (if using).
  2. Coat crackers
    Place crackers in a large zip-top bag or airtight container.
    Pour seasoning oil over crackers. Seal and gently turn to coat evenly.
  3. Soak
    Let crackers sit at room temperature 12–24 hours, turning the bag occasionally so they absorb evenly.
  4. Dry (optional)
    For less oily crackers, spread on a baking sheet and bake at 250°F (120°C) for 15–20 minutes.
  5. Cool & store
    Cool completely before serving. Store in an airtight container.

  • Mild: Reduce pepper flakes to 1 tsp
  • Cheesy: Add ½ cup finely grated Parmesan to seasoning
