Mediterranean Spiced Chicken Pita Wraps

Ingredients (4 wraps)

Chicken

  • 1 lb chicken breast or thighs, thinly sliced
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Zest & juice of 1 lemon
  • 1½ tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp oregano
  • ½ tsp coriander
  • ½ tsp turmeric (optional)
  • Salt and black pepper

Wraps

  • 4 pita breads (or flatbreads)
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce
  • 1 cup chopped cucumber & tomato
  • ¼ cup thinly sliced red onion
  • Fresh parsley or dill

Sauce (Tzatziki or Yogurt Sauce)

  • ¾ cup Greek yogurt
  • ½ cucumber, grated & squeezed dry
  • 1 clove garlic, grated
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt, to taste

Instructions

  1. Marinate chicken
    Combine olive oil, garlic, lemon zest/juice, spices, salt, and pepper.
    Toss chicken and marinate 15–30 minutes.
  2. Cook chicken
    Heat a skillet or grill pan over medium-high.
    Cook chicken 5–7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until golden and cooked through.
  3. Make sauce
    Mix all sauce ingredients until smooth. Chill if time allows.
  4. Warm pita
    Heat pitas in a dry skillet or wrapped in foil in the oven.
  5. Assemble wraps
    Spread sauce on pita.
    Add chicken, lettuce, cucumber-tomato mix, onion, and herbs.
    Fold or roll and serve.

Optional Add-Ins

  • Crumbled feta
  • Kalamata olives
  • Roasted red peppers
  • Chili sauce or harissa for heat

Make It Your Way

  • Low-carb: Serve in lettuce cups
  • Meal prep: Chicken keeps 3–4 days refrigerated
  • Oven option: Bake chicken at 425°F (220°C) for 18–20 minutes
