Put canned peaches in a slow cooker

Here’s a simple way to cook canned peaches in a slow cooker 🍑—great as a warm dessert or topping.


Slow Cooker Canned Peaches

Ingredients

  • 2 cans (15 oz each) peaches, drained (syrup or juice both work)
  • ¼ cup brown sugar (adjust to taste)
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon nutmeg (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon butter, cut into small pieces
  • Optional: 1 tablespoon cornstarch mixed with 2 tablespoons water (for thicker sauce)

Instructions

  1. Add to slow cooker
    • Place drained peaches in the slow cooker.
  2. Season
    • Sprinkle brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and vanilla over peaches.
    • Dot with butter.
  3. Cook
    • Cover and cook on LOW for 2–3 hours or HIGH for 1–1½ hours, stirring once halfway if possible.
  4. Optional thicken
    • If you want thicker sauce, stir in cornstarch slurry during the last 20 minutes.
  5. Serve warm
    • Delicious on their own or over vanilla ice cream, pancakes, waffles, or oatmeal.

Easy Variations

  • 🍑 Add a splash of lemon juice for brightness
  • 🌰 Stir in pecans or walnuts at the end
  • 🥧 Use as a filling for cobbler or dump cake
  • 🧂 Add a tiny pinch of salt to enhance sweetness
