Crockpot pepper steak recipe

Here’s a tender, flavorful Crockpot Pepper Steak—easy to prep and perfect over rice.


🥩 Crockpot Pepper Steak

Ingredients

  • 1½–2 lbs beef sirloin or flank steak, thinly sliced
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tsp garlic powder (or 2 cloves fresh garlic, minced)
  • 1 tsp ginger (ground or fresh)
  • 1 green bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 red bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 small onion, sliced
  • Black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Prep beef
    • Toss sliced beef with cornstarch until evenly coated.
  2. Add to crockpot
    • Place beef in the slow cooker.
    • Add soy sauce, beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, garlic, ginger, and black pepper.
    • Stir gently to combine.
  3. Cook
    • Cover and cook:
      • Low: 6–7 hours
      • High: 3–4 hours
  4. Add vegetables
    • Add bell peppers and onion during the last 60 minutes so they stay tender-crisp.
  5. Serve
    • Serve hot over rice or noodles.

Tips & Variations

  • Extra sauce: Add ½ cup more broth.
  • Spicy: Add crushed red pepper flakes or sliced chili.
  • Low sodium: Use low-sodium soy sauce.
  • Thicker sauce: Stir in a cornstarch slurry (1 tbsp cornstarch + 1 tbsp water) 30 minutes before serving.
